Paramount “Sewing Club”

Everyone is invited to the first meeting of our NEW “Sewing Club”. Come to an introductory meeting so we can get to know each other. We’ll officially announce the name of this new club, fill you in on the concept and details, and talk with you about what we want this Club to be. We want your input, so we’ll have a brief survey for you to fill out.

Hoopsisters Embroidablock 2011: “Goose Tracks”
Last year’s quilt, “TNT: Textures and New Techniques,”, was a huge hit. “Goose Tracks” is the next fantastic project from Hoopsisters. If you have an embroidery machine and want to find more uses for it, this is the class for you. If you are not a quilter but would like to be, this is the class for you. And if you are quilter and you think an embroidery machine is nice but not necessary, think again!
The quilt is made using the quilt-as-you-go “in the hoop” embroidery method (which you will learn in class). Choose a great background fabric, and use your fabric scraps to create a one-of-a-kind masterpiece. Diane calls this a “stash buster”.
This is a 4-month class. For the first class, we’ll make a sample using scrap fabrics from your stash so you get the basic understanding of the process. At that class you will also receive a CD with fabric planning information, which we’ll go over in class. If you’ve taken previous Hoopsisters classes, you’ll really enjoy that almost no two of the “Goose Tracks” blocks are the same.
Instructor: Diane Williams & Mickie Broy
Fee: $25 / month includes designs and instructions
Date: Wednesdays - April 6, May 4, June 1, 10 am, 2 pm or 6 pm.

These are some photos of Goose Tracks quilts. These were taken at the 2010 Houston Quilt Market. The quality of the photos is not the greatest, but the quilts are phenomenal. Look at how various fabrics and placement of the blocks completely transform the quilts!
